What defines a Craft......
Hi everyone, even though I think I am the only 1 who ever comes to this blog.
Lately my creative side has been on ice, I have walked by my crafting corner day in and day out and nothing. I walk in see If anything comes to me, cut some paper, look over some old crafting magazines for some inspiration but my mind is blank. I have made many trip in cyberspace to my favorite craft website cricut.com to sort of find some inspirations but I just get intimidated with all the talent that you find on there.
So I began questioning if I should just sell all my craft stuff and be done all together. I was hesitant, I mean I love the look on people faces when they see the things I create, the smile and the joy they emanate gives me a sense of satisfaction.
How can I possibly fire up my creativity? .....Answer, head to CVS for allergy medication that's how! I walked by the card aisle looking at the different Mother's Day cards on sale and thought "man these people are crazy to pay the prices they pay for cards" I continued to look when something caught my eye. This card was purple with the words MOM welded to top fold of the card and when opened the sentiment was inside. OMG!!!! I made this card like 2 years ago when I first got my cricut Design Studio. I had a aah moment there in the center of the card aisle, " I am creative and I can do this", just keep it simple.
So off I go to sequester myself in my craft corner and I'm not coming out until I make something that I deem creative, but before I go I would like to leave you with a thought; whenever you feel uncreative step back, and take a break, something so out of the ordinary will light your creative spark. It may happen in CVS like it did for me or it might happen sitting in your car or at church and a color combo catches your eye and you think " that would make an awesome card, or that would look so nice on a scrapbook layout.

Olivia's 3rd Birthday Bash
So it was that time again when the DH and I had to sit down and figure out what we were doing for the Olivia's 3rd birthday party. I had my heart set on a Hello Kitty themed party because cricut just released a Hello Kitty cartridge but, DH thought Olivia should be able to chose her own theme. **Dang no HK cartridge** So we took her to Party City and let her walk the aisle and pick her theme like a "big" girl. * drum roll please* She chose Abby Cadabby. So I thought *yesssssss pumping my fist I can still get a cartridge out of this**** I thought this would be the perfect time to ask the DH for the Sesame Street & Friends cartridge. His respond was "I think you have enough carts for now." **Schucks I want it so bad!!!!** I had so many cute ideas in mind, and I high expectations of the business blossoming because I had a lot of friends "potential customers" coming to her birthday party.
Time was not on my side, but then again when is it. lol I wanted to make all of the decorations and party boxes to stuff with goodies but couldn't. So we went back to Party City and just bought some Abby Cadabby stuff.

I have awaken a new passion this year which is cake, cookies and cupcake decorating. I thought " if I cant make all the things I wanted to why not make her cake." I talked if over with the hubz and he also agreed that I should just focus on the cake, cookies and cupcakes. That was the best thing we did. The cake was the talk of the party. Many people could not believe that I made the cake, cookies and cupcakes myself. Her party turned out great. I also had a lot of my friends ask me to make cakes and cookies for there children's birthdays. Lets hope that PinkyDenOli Creations will pick up this year.

Here it is
My little girl is turning 3 and I have planned to bake her a cake. I have never made a cake from scratch before, I have always relied on Better Crocker and Pilsbury but.....NO MORE!!
I made my first cake from scratch and I also decided that with all the resources around me (Internet) I learned how to use fondant. Well it is not as difficult as I thought and with enough practice I will get better and be able to apply different techniques and maybe start selling my cakes.
Here is a picture of my 1st masterpiece. The first picture is the cake with just buttercream frosting. The 2nd picture is the finished product. :

Been Busy
I took advantage that my DH had to do the brakes on my car Saturday and took my DD to my craft room gave her some crayons and i began to create. I needed to make a card for DH from me and a card from DD to DH.

I also altered some 1.00 mailboxes that I bought at Target. I thought they were going to be hard to pretty up but I was wrong. Once I started I couldn't stop. I made one for DD, 1 for DH and 1 for my younger cousin that is coming to my house today. The only thing that was a little tricky was fitting the paper over the flag. I needed a circle punch but I don't have 1 so I did the best that I could with my cropadile. Here are my mailboxes:

I love the group SonicFlood, they sing a favorite song of mine titled I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever. I used my embossing folder Allegro and colored in the music notes with a black marker. Layers the card and punched it using my Fiskars Leave it to weaver. I had some red ribbon that I just threaded through the holes. On the inside I die cut the music notes with my cuttlebug and heat embossed the lips. The sentiment was hand written. Here is the final product:.JPG)

Next I needed to make a card from DD. My DH refers to my DD as his bunny so shopping at Michael's I found a Studio G 1.00 stamp with this cute little girl bunny and the phrase Some Bunny Loves You. I thought this was perfect. So I grab some scraps I had laying around and stamped and colored the bunny and here is Oli's card to her daddy

I was asked by my SIL to make a Name frame for her BF's niece. I really enjoy making these. The theme is winnie the pooh and I bought this cartridge on Black Friday for 29.99 so I was very glad I finally had the chance to break it in. I really hope that my DSIL likes it but I hope the reciever of the gift baby Jila likes her new name frame.
