Safari Themed Baby Shower

My sister in law is expecting with her first child, who is due to arrive in mid June. The proud parents to be have decided not to find out the sex of the baby. Her baby shower is approaching very quickly and I have been asked to come up with some ideas for a baby shower invite.

The theme that was chosen is Fisher Price Baby Safari. Below is a picture of the plate for the cake table.
I think the design is adorable. I made 3 different designs that she can choose from. As soon as they decide, its off to mass produce. Thank goodness its only 40 invitations. Here they are~

Altered Candles and Flower Vases

I needed to make a quick birthday gift for my aunt and I really didn't have the time (with my 2 kids) to run around and shop. I love to alter candles and I think they look so nice with a personal picture on them so I went that route. I picked up 2 candles at Dollar Tree and while there I saw these 2 glass cylinder shaped flower vases and thought the candle would look very pretty in them so I grab those as well.
Once I got home and began search for a picture for the candle and then I cut some flowers and shapes from my Accents Essentials Cricut cartridge. I hot glued the flower pieces together and then hot glued some ribbon to trim the vase. I think they came out pretty cute. She loved the candles....so much that she cried.

There's nothing like putting your creativity into something and seeing the recipient's rection when they see their gift. I LOVE IT!!

Thanks for dropping by.......Come back whenever you like.

Where the Does the Time Go?

Thanksgiving is now over and I did not have the time to do anything creative. Shame on me!! I am so bad at time management. "Hey I think that is going to be one of my New Year's Resolutions." Hopefully I can stick to it and find the time, even if its 20-30 minutes a day to do something creative.
On another note, I was hired to personalize candles for a baby shower. The baby shower was for a girl, the colors were Lilac, pink and white. Finding Lilac and Pink candles in the middle of the Christmas season was a challenge. I mean everywhere I looked only had red, green, gold and silver. I almost gave up. But my heavenly Father guided me one day to my local Christmas Tree Shoppe and low and behold I found them. They were gorgeous, scented and the icing on the "cupcake" ( which are my fav, lOl) were they lite up, yes flameless candles. She was thrilled. I am so happy that my creativity was appreciated.
Until next time,

Halloween Goodies

My daughter had her first party of the year at Preschool, a Halloween costume party. So we decided to make "mummies". These were chocolate cake with marshmallow Butter cream, the eyes are sour gobstoppers and the smiles are sparkle red piping gel.
We also made Jack'o latern cake pops, which did not come out perfect but I was feeding (12) 4 year olds so it didn't matter to them that the chocolate wasn't smooth.
My daughter also asked me to make her some goody bags. These were very simple and I made them easy for her to carry to school and hand them out to her friends. They loved them!!!! Then again what child doesn't like a little candy.

Its amazing how time is flying, Halloween was 2 weeks ago and the planning for the Thanksgiving cupcakes are in the works. I will post pictures as soon and the Thanksgiving Feast ends. Until next time....~~Be Creative~~
