Here it is

My little girl is turning 3 and I have planned to bake her a cake. I have never made a cake from scratch before, I have always relied on Better Crocker and Pilsbury but.....NO MORE!!

I made my first cake from scratch and I also decided that with all the resources around me (Internet) I learned how to use fondant. Well it is not as difficult as I thought and with enough practice I will get better and be able to apply different techniques and maybe start selling my cakes.

Here is a picture of my 1st masterpiece. The first picture is the cake with just buttercream frosting. The 2nd picture is the finished product. :

Been Busy

I took advantage that my DH had to do the brakes on my car Saturday and took my DD to my craft room gave her some crayons and i began to create. I needed to make a card for DH from me and a card from DD to DH.

I love the group SonicFlood, they sing a favorite song of mine titled I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever. I used my embossing folder Allegro and colored in the music notes with a black marker. Layers the card and punched it using my Fiskars Leave it to weaver. I had some red ribbon that I just threaded through the holes. On the inside I die cut the music notes with my cuttlebug and heat embossed the lips. The sentiment was hand written. Here is the final product:
Next I needed to make a card from DD. My DH refers to my DD as his bunny so shopping at Michael's I found a Studio G 1.00 stamp with this cute little girl bunny and the phrase Some Bunny Loves You. I thought this was perfect. So I grab some scraps I had laying around and stamped and colored the bunny and here is Oli's card to her daddy

I also altered some 1.00 mailboxes that I bought at Target. I thought they were going to be hard to pretty up but I was wrong. Once I started I couldn't stop. I made one for DD, 1 for DH and 1 for my younger cousin that is coming to my house today. The only thing that was a little tricky was fitting the paper over the flag. I needed a circle punch but I don't have 1 so I did the best that I could with my cropadile. Here are my mailboxes:

I had such a good time crafting and everyone loved their gifts. Please feel free to comment. HOPE your Valentines day was filled with happiness and LOVE and as always

Baby Girl Name Frame

I was asked by my SIL to make a Name frame for her BF's niece. I really enjoy making these. The theme is winnie the pooh and I bought this cartridge on Black Friday for 29.99 so I was very glad I finally had the chance to break it in. I really hope that my DSIL likes it but I hope the reciever of the gift baby Jila likes her new name frame.
Here it is please feel free to leave me comments.

Family Frame

I was inspired by fellow crafters on a message board that I frequent and was inspired to alter a frame of my family name and I think it turned out great. I hope to make a few more to sell at local craft fairs. Here is a couple of pictures:

Cookies and Royal Icing

My wedding anniversary was at the beginning of the month and I wanted to get the sesame street cartridges for my cricut, but I also wanted to get a Kitchen Aid mixer. What a hard decision I had on my hands, but I went with the mixer because I got an incredible sale @ BedBath & Beyond. Here is my new beauty:
I have never made anything from scratch until I went to A C Moore and bought the new Wilton's Cake decorating magazine. I was inspire, so the other night I plugged in my new toy and made my first ever batch of sugar cookies and royal icing. Here is a picture of Olivia showing off her creative spark...
Royal icing is the not the easiest thing to work with so please be easy with the imperfection of the cookies. My daughter and I had a great time together and I do plan on making more so I can practice my royal icing technique. I would like to sell these some day.
My next venture from scratch is going to be my daughter's 3rd birthday cake made with fondant which I have never used before. I will keep posted.

I promise.......

It has been so long since my last post. Why? There aren't enough hours in the day to get to everything that needs to get done.

It doesn't help that I have been is such a crafter's rut. I promised myself that for the begining of this year I would try to craft at least for 1 hour each day and keep my blog up to date. If I want my business to pick up and flourish I need to get some stuff done. Right!!!!!!

This past Friday night I was getting ready to go to my MIL house, I had a gift that I had started for her sometime last summer. I had received my package from crop&stick.com (which by the way are just awesome) about 2 weeks ago and that gave me some incentive to get crafting again. In the box was my ATG gun. My dreamkutz and my new favorite cricut cartridge Storybook ( which is absolutely gorgeous!!!)

I went into my craft room loaded up my ATG gun put on some good music and off to crafting I went. Here is a picture my MIL paper Bouquet, which I call her Garden of Sunshines ( center of each flower are pictures of all her grandkids)

Hopefully getting this done will jump start my brain and body to get back into my craft room and get me CRAFT ON!!!!!

Live Laugh Love & Craft.
God Bless

We got her good..I Hope!!!

Well now that the baby shower is finally over I can post some pictures of what I made for Lisa and my DN baby shower. I don't think she was too surprised because there is always someone in the family that just can't keep secrets, but as long as she was happy and like all of the hard work that was put into we are happy.
Here is a diaper cake that I made with Pamper Size 2 diapers. They are having a boy and are huge NY Yankees fans ** Although they lost real bad this yeah lol** This cake is about 75-85 diapers. I used a navy blue floral ribbon and a baseball ribbon. The baseball was cut @ 3 1/2 in on my cricut. White is on shadow setting and the red piece is normal. Each tier is wrapped with an organza ribbon that was about 2 1/2 inches wide to simulate "frosting".
For the table centerpieces I cut 12x12 pieces of Styrofoam and covered them with fake grass rug. I cut the field @ 11 inches, to use a template and painted the field lines with white acrylic paint. I bought small wooden dowels and drilled them into the foam. I cut 2 babies @ 2 1/2 inches using the NA cartridge and my cricut, the score was cut using the baseball solutions cart @ 3 1/2 inches and the catchers mask was cut @ 2 inches also from the baseball solutions cart. The 2 baseballs were cut from left over ribbon from the diaper cake. To finish it off I added baby blue stickles to each babies diaper.
We bought small blue candle baseballs that said It's a boy and I just added tags I cut with my TBBM cartridge @ 4 inches and a baby face from NA @ 2 inches. The labels are clear mailing labels from staples.
